EPUB file for a fixed or reflowable ebook
1–2 weeks
I do not simply export your ebook as an EPUB—I deliver a quality ebook conversion with accessibility best practices in mind.
I structure and tag the InDesign file, as well as manually refine the code in Sigil for a better reading experience. I include ARIA roles, metadata, a page list, HTML cleanup, and more.
I validate every EPUB using Ace by DAISY and pagina’s EPUB Checker.
Note: While I strive for accessibility best practices and ensure EPUBs are validated, this still does not ensure they are in full compliance with EAA/WCAG standards. I do not currently guarantee full compliance with EAA/WCAG standards.
$1/page (based on the final print page count)
Minimum: $100
If you have more complex formatting in your publication (footnotes, an index, etc.), the price may increase because of the time required tending to these areas.
An ebook quote is given after the publication’s interior has been finalized.

Alt Text: $5 per image for simple content, with a higher rate for complex charts, diagrams, or educational illustrations. A flat rate can also be discussed for your project after reviewing the materials.

What if I need an ARC ebook and a final ebook?
Unfortunately, the ebook conversion process requires me to reformat everything. So, I have to charge for 2 separate ebooks (one being the ARC, and the other the final).
However, if you don’t want to pay for 2 ebooks, here are some options:
Reflowable: readers have the capability to adjust font, size, margins, etc., causing the text to “reflow”
Fixed: preserves original design and layout but limits customizations, meaning text doesn’t reflow and readers may have to zoom in and out

If you’re curious about how many pages your print book will be, you can use this page calculator to figure out an estimate.
Please note that this is only an estimate, and I cannot guarantee that it will be accurate, as it depends on a variety of different factors, including font size, space between lines, margins, etc.
After finalizing your sample design, I can give you a more accurate estimate.
