Reflow Fee

Reflowing means that your manuscript “reflows,” affecting text and pagination. It often results in having to start over in the typesetting process. Reflow can cause changes in page count, paragraph breaks, uneven pages, etc.

Examples of request that can cause reflow:

• Modifications to the trim size
• Changing the margin size
• Changing the font
• Modifications to the font size
• Adding paragraph separators
• Redesigning the Table of Contents
• Spelling out or using numerals for chapter numbers
• Adding graphics
• Changing line spacing (leading)
• Modifying the sample design and its styles
• Revisions to the manuscript that require reimporting the doc
• Etc.

How it impacts price

If you request a change to the manuscript that necessitates a reflow after approving the sample pages, a fee of 50% of the Base Design Fee will be invoiced for.
